• Aussies on Tour: Career best for Hinson-Tolchard

West Australian Maddison Hinson-Tolchard has recorded the best finish of her young career as Justice Bosio came up just short for a third time on the LET Access Series this season.

As Canadian 16-year-old Anna Huang completed a dominant seven-stroke win, Hinson-Tolchard’s third-place finish at the La Sella Open is the best of her rookie season on the Ladies European Tour, surpassing the tie for eighth at the Tenerife Open in June.

The 23-year-old made back-to-back birdies on the second and third holes of the final round before adding another on the ninth and the 12th hole.

Hinson-Tolchard dropped shots on 13 and 14 but bounced back with a birdie on 16 for her round of 3-under 69 and 12-under total.

It sees Hinson-Tolchard rocket up to 33rd on the Order of Merit and rewarded for a season that has built strongly in recent months.

“It’s been a whole year’s worth of work,” said Hinson-Tolchard.

“I know my game has been there and it’s just a couple of results that I needed. Finally, it’s all come together at the right time.

“This is such a wonderful week, and everyone hyped this tournament up.

“I’m glad that I was able to have my best finish here and I look forward to coming back next year.”

Bosio’s runner-up finish at the Lavaux Ladies Open in Switzerland was her third of the season yet not quite enough to secure automatic promotion to the Ladies European Tour in 2026.

Co-leader after 36 holes, Bosio shot 71 in the final round to finish three back of Patricie Mackova and eighth on the Order of Merit.

The top seven at season’s end are elevated to the LET the following year, Bosio set to finish second also on the LET Access Series Rookie of the Year standings.

Heavy rain and an unplayable course at the Walmart NW Arkansas Championship denied Robyn Choi the chance to add to her outstanding season, she and fellow Gold Coaster Karis Davidson both tied for ninth when the tournament was reduced to just 18 holes.
