• Aussies on Tour: Career firsts for Choi, Bosio

Queensland pair Robyn Choi and Justice Bosio have both produced their best results on the global stage as WPGA players featured prominently on leaderboards around the world.

Gabriela Ruffels began the final round of the LPGA Tour’s Riviera Maya Open in Mexico within two strokes of the lead but it was Choi who took honours as top Aussie.

Making just her second LPGA start for the year with a limited category, Choi birdied her final hole in a round of 2-under 70 to climb into a tie for ninth.

It is just the second LPGA top 10 of Choi’s career and first outside of Australia, having finished tied for sixth in the co-sanctioned Vic Open in 2020.

It was an international first, too, for Bosio.

Playing in the Allegria Stegersbach Ladies Open on the LET Access Series, Bosio played her final 11 holes in 3-under for a round of 2-under 68 and a tie for seventh.

It is her best result outside of Australia since turning professional as inaugural Athena champion Kristalle Blum finished tied for 14th.

Maddison-Hinson Tolchard and Kelsey Bennett both made the cut at the Jabra Ladies Open in France but it was former Women’s NSW Open champion Momoka Kobori who led the way for the WPGA on the Ladies European Tour.

Kobori had a hole-in-one at the par-3 eighth hole in the final round and would have finished top five if not for a double-bogey at her final hole.
