• Country NSW ready for influx of professional golf

As the excitement for the Women NSW Open and Australian Women’s Classic – Bonville builds, the final four Women’s NSW Open Golf Regional Qualifying Events are set to tee off on March 3.

The series will start at Duntryleague in Orange from March 3-5 followed by Bathurst Golf Club (March 6-8), Dubbo Golf Club (March 10-12) and the finale at Narrabri Golfie (March 14-16).

Each tournament will feature two rounds of competition, with a $50,000 purse up for grabs.

The top two placegetters from each will earn a spot to compete in this year’s Women’s NSW Open at Magenta Shores Golf & Country Club on the NSW Central Coast from March 29-31.

Events hosted throughout regional New South Wales bring the excitement and prestige of professional golf to local communities, inspiring a new generation of athletes to pursue their dreams on the greens.

During the first Women's NSW Open Golf Regional Qualifying Event held at Mollymook, the spotlight fell on the youngest participant in the field, 16-year-old Sydney schoolgirl Rachel Lee.

Against a field of seasoned professionals, Lee shone brightly; she not only secured a spot in the playoff with a final hole birdie but emerged triumphant in the nail-biting playoff.

“Rachel Lee's impressive performance at Mollymook exemplifies the spirit of these events, where talent knows no age,” said Nicole Martin, Manager – Tournaments at Golf NSW.

Martin also added that the series highlights the scenic beauty and world-class facilities of some of the best regional golf courses.

"These events at venues like Duntryleague, Bathurst, Dubbo, and Narrabri really showcase the diversity and quality of our great game in regional NSW. The exposure they will bring to each will be invaluable.

“The hard work put in by the clubs leading up to the events is evident, and they can't wait to see their course showcased nationwide.”

The final rounds of all four Regional Qualifying Series events will be livestreamed on the SEN network and across Golf NSW's social & digital channels.

Spectators are invited to join in the excitement, support the players, and experience the thrill of live tournament golf. Entry to all courses is free.
