After an electrifying first event held at Mollymook over the weekend, the Women’s NSW Open Golf Regional Qualifying Series is now heading to Wagga Wagga Country Club.
Regarded as one of the best courses in country NSW, the club is nestled on the banks of Lake Albert, just outside the city CBD. The challenging 18-hole layout is renowned for its immaculately maintained fairways and greens.
Competitors will converge from across Australia, New Zealand and Asia to take part in the $50,000 tournament which begins Thursday, November 23.
The top two place-getters will be guaranteeing their place in next year’s Women’s NSW Open being played at the magnificent Magenta Shores Country Club in March.
Queenslander Jordan O’Brien will be teeing up and is no stranger to the course after securing her first professional win during the Wagga Wagga Women’s Pro-Am in March.
“I’m really looking forward to it, I’m excited to head back. I obviously love the golf course because I have won there,” she said.
“The atmosphere, the members and the golf course in general are great. It’s a good challenge, the course, so completely gettable at the same time. It’s a different event but I would love to get another win at Wagga Wagga.
Chizuru Ueda, who was the runner-up at Mollymook, will also be in the field alongside Queenslander Rhianna Lewis, who was the third-place getter at the start of the week.
Nicole Martin, Golf NSW Tournament Manager, says Wagga Wagga Country Club has been eagerly awaiting the tournament.
"The club has gone above and beyond in its preparations, and they are thrilled to welcome some of Australia's finest female golfers to showcase their talent on the renowned course,” she added.
“Members and local supporters can expect nothing short of a spectacular display as the course becomes a focal point on screens nationwide.”
The final round of the esteemed event will be broadcast live on Kayo from 10:00 am.
