The WPGA Tour of Australasia today announced that the Qualifying Tournament for its 2023 Tour will be held at Coolangatta & Tweed Heads Golf Club over two rounds on the 16th and 17th January 2023.
The WPGA Tour CEO Karen Lunn said,
“We are delighted that Coolangatta & Tweed Heads Golf Club has agreed to host the Qualifying Tournament for our 2023 Tour. The Club has proved time and time again its worth as a quality host venue for major professional events, such as the 2022 NSW Women's Open and the inaugural Athena event in 2021, and we are delighted to be playing our Qualifying Tournament on Coolangatta & Tweed Heads Golf Club West Course which will be a fantastic test of golf for our aspiring tour players.”
Lunn also said it was a relief after a two-year hiatus due to the pandemic to have the event back on the schedule in 2023

Players competing at the WPGA Tour Qualifying Tournament who finish in positions 1-8 will earn Category 4a status for the 2023 WPGA Tour of Australasia season, those in positions 9-13 will earn Category 5a status, finishers from 14-23 will earn Category 6a status while those finishing in positions 24-33 will earn category 7a status.
