ALPG announced today that Mr Trefor Clayton will take up a position on the ALPG Board of Directors after being appointed at its most recent board meeting.
Mr Clayton will replace outgoing Director Terry Simpson who has retired after holding a seat on the board for five years.
ALPG President Julia Boland thanked Mr Simpson for his commitment to ALPG.
”On behalf of the board I would like to sincerely thank Terry for his friendship and service to ALPG over the past five years and wish him all the very best in his retirement\" said Miss Boland
In welcoming Mr Clayton, Miss Boland said,
“I have no doubt that Trefor be a great asset for ALPG moving forward. He is an extremely passionate golfer who is a member at St Michaels Golf Club in Sydney and has broad experience in commerce, corporate and investment banking.
“Trefor has held senior leadership positions with Banque Nationale de Paris, Burns Philp & Co. and Dexion Limited, and was formerly chairman of Belvoir Street Theatre Limited and a director of Pinnacle Charitable Foundation Ltd.
“Trefor is also a Partner at Contender Sports Management and has had a close involvement with both women’s and men’s elite amateur and professional golf since 2012.
“As we come out the other side from the COVID-19 Virus we know that the world of professional sports will be facing many new challenges and we certainly welcome someone like Trefor with his impressive professional credentials and experience to our team at ALPG” said Miss Boland
Mr Clayton was delighted to be appointed to the ALPG Board.
“I am very much looking forward to working with the ALPG Board and its membership. The ALPG has set ambitious goals in a tough professional sporting environment and I firmly believe these can be attained” said Mr Clayton
