• Ravnjak takes out 2019 ALPG Club Car Series

Wollongong`s Tahnia Ravnjak capped off a fantastic 2018/19 ALPG Tour season winning the 2019 ALPG Club Car Series at Yamba Golf Club on Friday.

The ALPG ClubCar series was held across 6 events in 2019, The Ballarat Icons ALPG pro-am, The Aoyuan Moss Vale International Pro-am, The ActewAGL Canberra Classic, The Worrell`s NSW Women`s Open, the Brisbane Invitational and  the Findex Yamba ALPG Pro-am, with players rewarded with points for top 10 finishes.

Heading into the final event at Yamba it was Sydney`s Celina Yuan who led the Series, and mathematically there were five players in with a chance of taking out the first prize bonus $6,500 for the 2019 ALPG ClubCar Series winner, and it was Ravnjak and West Australian Whitney Hillier who rose to the occasion shooting 3 under par rounds of 70 to tie for 1st place.

Not only did Hillier and Ravnjak have the pressure of playing a playoff for the Findex Yamba pro-am title, whichever player won the playoff would also take out the 2019 ALPG ClubCar Series, meaning the difference between winning and losing for both players was a cool $4,000.

However, it was Ravnjak`s time to shine and the Wollongong native calmly rolled in a two-metre birdie putt at the second playoff hole to for victory and a bumper $9,500 payday.

The bubbly 25-year-old was clearly thrilled with taking out the ClubCarSeries and paid thanks to Kevin Gates and ClubCar for their support,
\"This is amazing, I would like to say a huge thank you to Kevin Gates and the team at ClubCar for this opportunity, the ClubCar series means so much to all of us who are here. This makes a huge difference to me heading up to play on the China LGA Tour knowing that I have this behind me\"

Hillier, the winner of the Brisbane Invitational at McLeod Country Golf Club a few days prior, had the consolation of picking up a cheque for $3,500 for finishing second in the ALPG ClubCar series along with her $2,000 runner-up cheque.

In the minor positions, Celine Yuan finished in 3rd place taking home an extra $2,500, last years winner Breanna Gill finished in 4th place picking up $1,500, while Queenslander Must snuck in 5th place taking home $1,000
