The Findex Yamba ALPG Pro-am will be played over 18 holes tomorrow at Yamba Golf Club, with thirty players from eight different countries competing for the $20,000 prizemoney on offer, with the winner taking home a cheque for $3,000.
The Pro-am will be the final event on the 2018-2019 ALPG Tour, and also the final event the 2019 ALPG ClubCar Series, a series of six tournaments at which ALPG members are rewarded for consistency by gaining points for top-10 finishes.
It is only fitting that the ClubCar Series will be decided at Yamba Golf Club, one of the most underrated golf courses in New South Wales providing a stern test of golf boasting some of the finest greens to be found in the region.
This is the sixth straight year the pro-am has taken place in Yamba, a beautiful beachside town in Northern NSW which has proven to be one of the favourite stops for our ALPG members and international visitors.
Mathematically there are still five players in with a chance of taking out the $6,500 bonus for the 2019 ALPG ClubCar Series winner.
NSW`s Celina Yuan is in the box seat sitting on 537.5 points and will take a slender 12.5 point advantage into the final day over West Australian star Whitney Hillier, the winner of the Aveo Brisbane Invitational Pro-am held at McLeod Country Golf Club on Tuesday.
There are three other players also in contention to win the ClubCar Series, Wollongong`s Tahnia Ravnjak on 425 points, last year`s winner Breanna Gill on 300 points and one of the in-form players on the ALPG Tour in 2019, Englishwoman Felicity Johnson sits 250 points.
Second place in the 2019 ALPG ClubCar Series will receive $3500, third place $2500, fourth place $1500 and fifth place $1000.
The Findex Yamba ALPG Pro-am will start from 8:40am Friday 22nd March, spectators are welcome and entry is free.
