• Countdown to Sheraton Deva New Caledonia Women´s International Pro-am

The ALPG Tour this week is in New Caledonia for the second edition of Sheraton Deva New Caledonia International ALPG Pro-am, marking the second time that an official women’s professional golf event will be played in the South Pacific Islands.

The event will be played over 36 holes, starting tomorrow morning and finishing on Friday 15th March, at the magnificent Pete Dye designed Sheraton Deva Course, with prizemoney of AUD$40,000 on offer for the players.
The Sheraton Deva Resort is a beach resort in the town of Bourail which sits at the base of the Deva domain, and overlooks the ocean and UNESCO World Heritage barrier reef. The Resort is approximately 130km from Noumea

Defending champion Breanna Gill will once again start as one of the favourites this week, but the in-form player in the field is Wollongong’s Tahnia Ravnjak, co-winner of last week’s Aoyuan International Moss Vale Pro-am and coming off a 25th  place finish at the Australian Ladies Classic Bonville two weeks ago.

The professional players will play alongside women amateur players from across the region in a pro-am format. Many eyes will be on promising New Caledonia amateur player Emilie Ricaud earned a five-shot victory in the girls 16-18 division at the Doral Publix Junior championship in the USA in December last year.

In all, there are 29 players from seven different countries competing this week (Australia, New Zealand, United States, Canada, Japan, Sweden and Austria)
The tournament is an official event on the 2018/19 ALPG Tour, counting for the official ALPG Order of Merit.
