American Kim Kaufman will take a two shot lead into tomorrow`s final round of the ISPS Handa Vic Open, after shooting a third round 3-over par 75 at 13th Beach Golf Links in Barwon Heads today.
On a day where the average score for the women`s field was 76, Kaufman hung tough in the incredibly difficult conditions which saw heavy showers and winds gusting in excess of 65 kph.
The 27-year old is in her sixth season on the LPGA Tour, and will be looking to go one better than her career-best second place finish at the 2015 Blue Bay LPGA in China.
Victorian Su Oh overcame a bogey, bogey start to shoot a two-over par 74, finishing the day in a tie for second place at 8 under-par with Frenchwoman Celine Boutier, who equalled the best round of the day in the women`s field shooting a superb 3-under par round of 69.
Oh, winner of the 2015 Australian Ladies Masters, is searching for her first victory on the LPGA Tour and clearly feels at home at 13th Beach with five top-six finishes from her seven starts here.
Boutier also has one victory on the ALPG Tour after taking out the 2018 Australian Ladies Classic Bonville.
Oh and Boutier will start tomorrow`s final round just two shots off the lead and will play alongside Kaufman in the final women`s pairing of the day at 12:23 pm.
2016 ISPS Handa Women`s Open Champion Haru Nomura is alone in fourth place at 7-under par after shooting a 4-over par 76, and is still well and truly in contention just 3 shots off the lead.
Australian Katherine Kirk will also feel she has a shot at victory tomorrow after a gutsy 1-over par 73 to finish at -4, six shots adrift of Kaufman.
