Tsai Peiying emerged as the winner of the inaugural ALPG Qualifying Tournament today at Ballarat Golf Club, after shooting a final round 1-under par 71 to finish at 9-under par and a 5-shot victory over American Cheyenne Knight and Australian Tamie Durdin.
Peiying started the day at 8 under par after opening rounds of 67 and 71 with a 2-shot cushion over Durdin, who was making a comeback to competitive golf after a 3-year hiatus.
The 27-year-old played solidly in the windy afternoon conditions which included two suspensions of play due to thunderstorms in the area, and was never threatened cruising to victory and exemptions into the ISPS Handa Vic Open and the ISPS Handa Women`s Australian Open.
The other players who qualified for the ISPS Handa Vic Open were American Amelia Lewis, Mexican Ingrid Gutierrez Nunez, Austrian Sarah Schober along with Durdin and Knight.
Four players, Simin Feng, Gemma Dryburgh, Vani Kapoor and Elmay Viking will return to Ballarat Golf Club at 7:30am local time tomorrow moring to playoff for the two remaining spots.

Next up on the 2019 ALPG Tour is the Ballarat Icons Pro-am to be held on Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd February at Ballarat Golf Club. The event will be headlined by defending champion Xiyu Lin from China, World Golf Hall-of-Famer and former world number 1 Dame Laura Davies, and Aussie stars Sarah Kemp, Rebecca Artis and Whitney Hillier.
