The 2019 ALPG Tour and ALPG Tour Club Car Series will get underway tomorrow at Curlewis Golf Club on Victoria’s Bellarine Peninsula, at the Blitz Golf Curlewis.

Blitz Golf is an exciting new format of the game, whereby the tournament comprises 4 rounds within a day, with the “blitzes (rounds) getting shorter as the stakes get higher.

Twenty ALPG professionals will be competing for $20,000 prizemoney on offer and will be joined by 40 of their male compatriots from the Ladbrokes PGA Pro-am series who will compete for $40,000.

In addition, the winner of the ALPG Blitz will receive a bonus of $2,000 on top of the first prize cheque of $3,600, guaranteeing a bumper payday for the winner.

The ALPG Blitz Golf Curlewis will mark the return to competitive golf for two-time Ladies European Tour winner and 2013 Vic Open Champion Stacey Peters, who will be joined in the field by ALPG stars Whitney Hillier, Steph Na and Charlotte Thomas, who will tee it up for the first time after gaining her full US LPGA tour card in November last year.

The event combines professional golf with a carnival type atmosphere that is exciting for players and spectators alike and moves toward short-form sport which is becoming popular for event attendance and TV coverage.

Play will get underway at 9:30 am local time, entry is free and spectators are welcome.
