The 2018 ALPG Tour and ALPG ClubCar Series will get underway tomorrow with a brand new pro-am on the schedule, the ALPG Ballarat Icons Pro-am to be played at Ballarat Golf Club in Victoria’s Goldfields. The prizemoney for the one-day pro-am will be $25,000, with the winner virtually being guaranteed a place in next week’s Oates Vic Open.

A strong field will be assembled for the pro-am, with 75 professionals from 17 different countries competing, including former world number 1 Dame Laura Davies and nine other players who have won tournaments on the world’s major women’s tours; Lydia Hall (Wales), Kylie Henry (Scotland), Liv Cheng (NZ), Marianne Skarpnord (Norway), Felicity Johnson (England), Lorie Kane (Canada), XiYi Lin (China,) Stacey Peters (Australia) and Linda Wessburg (Sweden).

There will be four Olympians in the field; Skarpnord, Lin, Christine Wolf from Austria and Chloe Leurqin from Belgium, and they will be joined by star Victorian amateurs Kono Matsumoto and Stephanie Bunque who will look to test themselves against the professional field. 

The title of the pro-am, the ALPG Ballarat Icons Pro-am reflects the group of local iconic Ballarat businesses who collectively are the title sponsors; Haymes Paint, Country Club Villages, Gull and Company Estate Agents, Selkirk Bricks, JG King Homes, Integra and Eureka Concrete.

The morning field, which will include Laura Davies will tee off in a shotgun start format at 7:30am, while the afternoon field will tee off at 12:30pm.

Spectators are welcome and entry is free.
