As the ALPG Tour reflects on a super exciting finish to the ISPS Handa Women’s Australian Open in Adelaide yesterday, there is still plenty to play for as the Tour and the 2017 ClubCar Series heads to the stunning McLeod Country Golf Club in Brisbane for the 2017 Brisbane International.
Defending champion Stacey Peters, who won the title last year as Stacey Keating heads a star-studded field who will play over two days on Tuesday 21st and Wednesday 22nd February.
Other players expected to contend are the joint champions from 2015 Sarah Kemp and Liv Cheng, along with Mulpha Norwest Pro-am winner Emily McLennan, West Australian Whitney Hillier and Norwegian star Tonje Daffinrud.
Tomorrow’s round will be a team ambrose event where the professional players will get to see the course close up and have a fun day out with their amateur partners, before getting down to business on Wednesday where prizemoney of $30,000 will be up for grabs.
The Brisbane Invitational will be the penultimate event of the 2017 ClubCar series, which West Australian star Hannah Green currently leads New South Welshwoman Rebecca Artis by 495 points, with Scotland’s Gemma Dryburgh in third place.
The ClubCar Series awards players who finish in the top 10 at each of the ALPG Tour pro-ams, the RACV Gold Coast Challenge and the Oates Vic Open points based on their finishing position.
The leading 5 players across the eight events will share the bonus pool of $15,000, with the winner taking home $6500.
Play will begin tomorrow at McLeod Country Golf Club in Brisbane at 8:00am and entry is free for spectators.
