The ALPG Tour heads to the stunning Pennant Hills Golf Club in Sydney tomorrow for the third edition of the GoldKey Financial Pennant Hills Pro-am, a 36-hole event on Thursday and Friday boasting prizemoney of $30,000.

A field of 85 professionals from seventeen different countries will tee it up including Aussie stars Sarah Kemp, Rebecca Artis, Whitney Hillier, Sarah Oh, Nikki Garrett, newly wed Stacey Peters (nee Keating) and Mulpha Norwest Pro-am winner, ALPG rookie Emily McLennan.

The pro-am, which is the second event of the 2017 ALPG Club Car Series, is the second of three be held in the Sydney area, with the Mulpha Norwest Pro-am at Castle Hill Country Club being won by rookie Emily McLennan yesterday, and the Oatlands Golf Club pro-am to be played next Monday and Tuesday 23rd and 24th January.

The players will certainly welcome the milder temperatures forecast for both days of the event, and given the quality of the field low scoring is once again predicted. 

Pennant Hills members Lauren Hibbert and Paige Stubbs will be hoping to take advantage of their local knowledge, while the international visitors will no doubt appreciate the cooler temperatures and it would be no surprise to see a foreign winner for the third year in a row.
England’s Felicity Johnson, who has plied her trade in recent years on the US LPGA Tour, has enjoyed playing the Pennant Hills layout the past 2 years, and 2015 Oates Vic Open Champion Marianne Skarpnord is another world class player expected to play well.

The field also boasts four players who competed in the Rio Olympic Games in 2016; Austria’s Christine Wolf, Belgian Chloe Leurquin, Norwegian Skarpnord and Swiss player Fabienne In-Albon.
In addition, the 2016 World Women’s Long Drive Champion Phillis Meti will no doubt have heads turning as she makes just her second professional start in Australia since her victory in the US in October.

Three promising ALPG rookies who could turn up and surprise their more credentialed and experienced counterparts are former number one ranked amateur Hannah Green and Sydneysiders Liz Elmassian and Celina Yuan.

The pro-am will be the third qualifying event for the upcoming major tournaments on the ALPG Tour; the RACV Gold Coast Challenge, the Oates Vic Open and the ISPS Handa Women`s Australian Open.

Play tomorrow will be in two waves, with the morning shotgun starting at 7:30am and the afternoon shotgun starting at 1:00pm.
