• ALPG team ready for action at The Queens presented by Kowa

The second playing of “The Queens presented by Kowa” gets underway at 9:00am on Friday morning local time, when the ALPG team take on the stars of the LPGA of Japan (JLPGA), the Korean LPGA KLPGA) and the Ladies European Tour (LET) in the annual team match play competition.
The tournament, held at the picturesque Miyoshi Country Club outside of Nagoya in Japan, will be played over three days, the first day being foursomes matchplay, the second round fourball best ball matchplay and the final day will be singles matchplay.

The nine-strong ALPG team will be led for the second successive year by LPGA star Rachel Hetherington who is upbeat about her team’s chances this week \"We are looking forward to playing our best golf this week. The entire ALPG team is really excited to be here and to play in this team format. A lot of the girls play either in the States or in Europe throughout the year and even though we’re from the same place we don’t get to play a lot together and definitely don’t get to play together as a team. It’s really fun to play together and we’ll do our best. All of the girls are playing great golf so we’re very confident and really looking forward to it.”

In the first of the ALPG matches tomorrow morning at 9:10am, ALPG captain Hetherington and Western Australia`s Whitney Hillier will team up against the KLPGA pairing of Min Sun Kim and Su Yeon Jang.

The second ALPG pairing of Sarah Kemp and Stacey Keating will tee off at 9:20am against the LET pairing of Catriona Matthew and Nanna Koerstz Madsen.

In the third match three-time LPGA winner Katherine Kirk will partner with Sydney’s Lauren Hibbert, against the JLPGA pairing of Yukari Nishiyama and Megumi Shimokawa at 9:40am.

In the final ALPG pairing of the morning, LPGA stars Su Oh and Sarah Jane Smith will combine against the Korean duo of Hae Rym Kim and Seung Hyun Lee at 10:10am
