• Whitney Hillier shares her thoughts on representing ALPG at The Queens Cup

Western Australian Whitney Hillier will make her second appearance at next week`s Queens Cup by Kowa. She shared her thoughts with us on what it means to her to play for her Country and Tour

Whitney, congratulations on making the ALPG team, what does it mean to play for your country and your home tour?

Thank you! It means so much to be able to play for my country and represent the ALPG. The Queens Cup is a one of a kind event and such a great opportunity to compete against some of the best players in the word. I loved playing last year and I can`t wait to represent again!

Most of the ALPG team know each other very well, who will be the joker of the team this year?

Sarah Kemp is probably the funniest! She loves a good laugh and a bet against other team members

Obviously Rachel Hetherington is a legend of Australian Golf, having beaten Annika Sorenstam in 3 playoffs on the LPGA Tour. As captain what can Rachel bring to a team who will be underdogs in 2016?

I was lucky enough to have Rachel as my foursomes partner last year and I learnt so much from her. She has a great demeanour and her game is unreal. She`s a strong leader and she will bring lots of positivity into the team and make sure we have lots of fun at the same time! The other teams have to watch out for the underdogs!

Matchplay is obviously a different format to what you play week in week out, how do you approach matchplay compared to strokeplay?

It`s almost the same as stroke play. You just play your best game and stay aggressive with your shots. The best thing is that anything can happen in match play so just keep the pressure on the opponent and get the point.

What are you looking forward to the most at The Queens Cup?

I LOVE Japan! It`s such a beautiful country and the course is absolutely stunning. I really look forward to playing the tournament!

What do you think you learned the most from your experiences in The Queens Cup in 2015 that will stand you in good stead this year?

The teams are very strong so I have to bring my A-game and keep the pressure on. I know the course very well now so I can work my way around and make plenty of birdies!
