Round one of the 2016 Idemitsu SAT Thailand Masters gets underway this morning at the Panya Indra Golf Club, with 85 players from 10 different nationalities vying for the 600,000 Baht (approximately AUD$23,000) first prize.

The ALPG nine strong contingent will be led by West Australia’s Katelyn Must, winner of the ALPG BWAC Yamba Pro-am earlier in 2016, along with Victorians Grace Lennon and Vicky Thomas, Queenslander Tamara Johns and South Australian Kristalle Blum who is making her professional debut this week.

Yesterday’s practice round was once again marred by bad weather, with players called off the golf course at 11:40 due to thunderstorms in the area. Some players still have not had the opportunity to play all of the holes on the course with bad weather having hampered preparations all week.

The 2016 Idemitsu SAT Thailand Masters is a landmark occasion in the 44 year history of the ALPG, this is the first time that it has been involved as a sanctioning partner in a tournament outside Australasia.
