• Kemp and Artis to represent Australia in World Ladies Championship at Mission Hills

Rebecca Artis, Sarah Kemp and Stacey Keating will be the only ALPG representatives who will tee it up in the World Ladies Championship at Mission Hills Resort at Shenzen in China which starts tomorrow.

The tournament is a tri-sanctioned event between the host tour the China LPGA, along with the Korean LPGA Tour and the Ladies European Tour. The make-up of the 126-woman field includes 40 players from each of the three tours as determined by their 2016 Exemption Lists as well as six invited players.

The format is 72 holes of stroke play, with individual players competing for the US$700,000 prize fund. In addition to the individual event, the tournament is unique in that there is also an International  Team’s event which is run concurrently. The top world-ranked two players from each country as of 1st January will compete for the team prize fund of US$100,000, using combined stroke play scores.

Kemp and Artis will represent Australia in the team’s event and both are looking forward to a rare opportunity to represent their country as professionals.
While the competition is primarily an individual stroke play event, the team competition is at the forefront of the pair’s thoughts heading to China.

Kemp was a part of the ALPG team at the Queen’s Cup in Japan in December last year and is looking forward to another opportunity to represent her country, “\"There aren`t many times we get to play in team events for your country so when it happens it`s definitely exciting and I`m really pumped\"
For Artis this is her first time representing  Australia as a professional and she is looking forward to the opportunity \"It`s always an honour to represent your country and to do so in a team’s event with a good mate in Kempy should be a lot of fun!\"

The other ALPG member in the field is Victorian Stacey Keating who has just come off a fantastic ALPG season in which she won two events and also the 2016 ALPG Club Car Series.

Play will start tomorrow morning at 7:00am local time, go to http://ladieseuropeantour.com/?tournament=2016-world-ladies-championship for live scoring.
