• Arthur and Johns lead on day one of rain affected Goldkey Financial ALPG Pro-am

Queenslanders Bree Arthur and Tamara Johns are tied for the lead after day one of the GoldKey Financial ALPG Pro-am at Pennant Hills after shooting 5 under par rounds of 68.

In the oppressive morning heat where the thermometer touched 39 degrees, sixteen players were under par, with South Australian rookie Jenny Lee and Switzerland’s Fabienne In -Albon just a shot behind the Queensland duo at 4 under par.

The afternoon players, including former world number one Dame Laura Davies had completed 13 holes when thunderstorms rolled across the western suburbs of Sydney and play was suspended with lightening in the area at 4pm. At 5:30 a decision was made that there would be no further play today and round one would resume at 9am tomorrow morning, following which the field will be cut to 35 professionals  for tomorrows second and final round which tees off at 1pm.
