Australian Ladies Professional Golf is delighted to announce our involvement in an exciting new International Team’s Match-Play event, “The Queens presented by Kowa”
The tournament involves four of the major Women’s Tours recognised by the Rolex Women’s World rankings;
o Australian Ladies Professional Golf Inc
o The LPGA Tour of Japan
o The Korean LPGA Tour
o The Ladies European Tour
The tournament will be played over three days, from the 4th-6th December this year, at the beautiful Miyoshi Country Club in Aichi prefecture, Japan.
The event is a landmark event for women’s golf, bringing four tours from three different continents together for a week of highly competitive golf in Japan. The tournament is sponsored by Mainichi Broadcasting Systems Inc, with the special support of the Kowa Company Ltd.
The opening two days will be fourball and foursome matchplay, with 8 players from each team competing each day. The final day will be singles matchplay, whereby all 9 players from each of the four teams will be competing for the trophy.
ALPG is also delighted also to announce that eight time LPGA Tournament winner Rachel Hetherington will be Australia’s Playing Captain for the tournament.“I am incredibly honoured and thrilled to be named Captain and to represent ALPG. I look forward to being part of such an exciting event and will do everything I can to make the event an enjoyable experience for all of my fellow players.”

This event is a result of the collaboration that is happening behind the scenes between the stakeholders involved in women’s golf, particularly within our extended region.”
The total prizemoney for the tournament will be an impressive 100 million yen (AUD$1.2 million) The winning team will take home 45 million yen (AUD$540,000), plus a further 1 million yen to donate to the charity of their choice. The event will be broadcast live globally on days 2 and 3.
A team of nine(9) players will represent the ALPG, with team selection based on the following criteria;
o Top three (3) from the 2014/15 ALPG Final Order of Merit
o Five (5) players in order of their position on the Rolex Women`s World Rankings at the closing date of entry
o One wildcard
The ALPG team will be announced on Wednesday 21st October.
