Keating Excited About Australia Classic
Two time Ladies European Tour winner Stacey Keating will be one of the local favourites in this week’s 2015 Australia Classic at Twin Creeks Golf and Country Club in Sydney.
Keating is one of 25 ALPG members teeing it up with 25 of China’s LPGA players and four sponsor invites in the inaugural event being played from 17th to 19th April.
The Victorian was asked about her thoughts on the first co-sanctioned event between the ALPG and CLPGA,
“I think it’s great, I think it’s great for both countries, both tours are continually building and this is another step forward. If down the track it can be linked the tournament with the rest of our season, I believe it’s going to become very successful tournament, with some of our countries best players playing.” Keating responded.
“The events I have played in China before are world class, they are really growing the game there, and I’m looking forward to being a part of the first co-sanctioned event in Australia!”
Keating is one of the few players that has played the course before this week,
“I have played it once before, a few years back, from what i recall its a great course, very challenging, especially if the wind gets up!!”
It would be a special win if Keating was to come out on top of Sunday and win the inaugural Australia Classic,
“Well any win is always a good win, but especially in Australia, and especially for a first time event!!”
Fellow compatriots likely to be mix come Sunday afternoon include Queensland’s Rachel Hetherington, Nikki Campbell, Nikki Garrett, Rebecca Artis and Bree Arthur.
