RACV Ladies Masters Su Oh will remember the 2015 ISPS Handa New Zealand Women’s Open for years to come. 

The talented teenager got to play the first two rounds with Rolex World No. 1 Lydia Ko.  Oh said after the second round, she was more nervous on the opening two holes on Friday morning than she was when she was coming down the stretch at the Ladies Masters where she capture her first professional tournament. 

The opening round was very much a learning experience, a couple of missed shots cost the Victorian dearly but round two was very different, in fact 10 shots better.

The rookie showed everyone what she was capable of when she came out and carded a second round of six-under-par which included seven birdies and one lone bogey. 

Oh enjoyed everything about the two days.  “It was the most people I have ever played it front of, it was fun out there.  We would all be chatting walking to our balls, then once we got to our ball we would like, focus, hit our shot and then chat again. It was cool.”

The most impressive aspect of Ko’s game for Oh was her ball striking, “She hits it so straight, her three wood goes as straight, no actually probably straighter, than her wedges.”

It also gave the 18-year-old the chance to compare her game against the best, “It was so a great experience, Lydia hits it so straight and her short game is so good.  She is also a great putter.  I can see what I have to practice more to go to the next level.”
