• Lewis Shoots 64 to Lead by 3

Rolex World No. 3 Stacy Lewis carded a flawless round of 64 to take a three shot lead into the week-end at the Honda LPGA Thailand.

The America sits atop of the leaderboard at 14-under-par after rounds of 66 and 64 on the Pattaya Old Course at the Siam Country Club.  South Korean Amy Yang is leading the chase at 11-under-par.

Four players sit a further three shots adrift at eight-under-par, Caroline Masson, Jenny Shin, Ariya Jutanugarn and Mirim Lee.  Closing out the top 10 is Sandra Gal, Catriona Matthew and Cristie Kerr.

Of the two Australians Karrie Webb made a significant move up the leaderboard on Friday with a three-under-par 69 to be at three-under for the tournament and tied for 20th position.  Unfortunately the only other Australian in the field, Katherine Kirk, is well back in a share of 66th position.

Lewis in particular has enjoyed the front nine this week. A 29 on Thursday was followed with a 32 on Friday on the front nine as she got on a roll midway through with four straight birdies.

“Well, it got off to a bit of a slow start, but about midway through the front nine there kind of caught fire with the putter and started hitting some shots close, Lewis said of her round. “It really was a pretty easy day. I didn’t cause myself too much stress. Hit a ton of greens, which is what have to do on this golf course. Just happy with the day.”

Lewis is looking for her 12th career win and first since the 2014 Walmart NW Arkansas Championship.
