Perth`s Minjee Lee finished the leading Aussie at the 2015 ISPS Handa Women`s Australian Open. 

With rounds of 76, 71, 72 and 72 on the famous composite course at Royal Melbourne the teenager finished tied 7th at one-under-par, her best result in a LPGA event since turning pro in September 2014.  Rolex World No.1, Lydia Ko, captured her sixth LPGA title.  

Lee has made an impressive start to her rookie seaon on the LPGA, in three starts she has finished 12th, T27th and T7th.

After her round she was asked about her impressive start, but the teenager wasnt getting ahead of herself, 

\"I’m just starting so I feel like I’m in a really good place and I just want to build from here.”

When asked about finishing as the leading Aussie, she responded, \"Yeah, I mean I’m happy but I obviously wanted to play better than what I finished on. I felt like I hit it pretty good. The course is so hard, if you hit a good shot, you can be over the back and that’s just what you accept on this golf course.”

This week she had a number of commitments but that didnt interrput her preparation, “Not really. Sandy (Lonergan) did a great job in putting everything in blocks. It was not too disruptive or didn’t really distract me that much. I got to get all my prep done and I was ready going into the week.” 

Lee has her sights on eventually being the best player in the world, but she is happy to learn the ropes for the next year or two.

Defending champion Karrie Webb signed for two sub-par rounds on the week-end to finish at one-over-par and tied for 16th.  Unfortunately Katherine Kirk (78) fell back down the leaderboard after starting the day in the mix.  She also finished tied for 16th with Webb.
