After a stellar amateur career, former Rolex World No.1 amateur, Su Oh cant wait to make her professional debut this Thursday in the Renault Ladies Pro-Am at the magnificent Castle Hill Country Club in Sydney.

“I am very excited, I cant wait to start my career as a professional golfer” said the very talented and likeable golfer.

At the moment, she isn’t nervous as she explained why “Not really, I think it is because I’ve done this schedule (ALPG tour events) for a few years now so it feels pretty normal right now, but I might feel different once I get to the venue and tee it up on the 1^st.”

Transitioning from the amateur ranks to the professional ranks has meant it has been a busy time, “It has been quite busy trying to get things organised, but Tony (Bouffler – Manager) has helped me a lot so it was easier than it could’ve been.”

“I’m just looking forward to playing, I cant wait to play as a pro.”

The Victorian golfer first came to our attention when she made headlines around the country when she qualified for the Women’s Australian Open as a 12-year-old in 2009.

Since that time Oh has gone on to win numerous amateur titles including the 2012 Australian Girls Amateur, which was followed by the Australian Amateur Champion in 2013. 

In 2013 she also took home the Lake Macquarie Amateur Championship, Port Phillip and the Victorian Amateur Championship.  Oh was also part of the Australian team which captured the Queen Sirikit Cup.

The 18-year-old also showed in 2013 she could mix it with the professionals when she finished tied for second at the RACV Ladies Masters.   Due to her fantastic performances she rose to the No.1 ranking in the Rolex World Amateur rankings as well.

2014 was another solid year, she won the WA 72 hole stroke play championship, made the cut in the Kraft Nabisco Championship on the LPGA and was part of the Australian Team that won the Espirito Santo Trophy in Japan in September.

The 18-year-old then made the decision that it was time to turn pro, she did that on the 31 October 2014 and was accepted as a member of the ALPG.  Oh went on to earn a card on the Symetra Tour, the feeder tour to the lucrative LPGA in 2015.

Oh will tee it up against the likes of England’s Laura Davies, Rachel Hetherington and Lorie Kane, all multiple winners on the LPGA.
