• Sarah Oh takes Moss Vale title in style

Sarah Oh shot a 9 under par second round 64 to take the Moss Vale Ladies Classic by a single shot from Sydney’s Sarah Kemp.
Oh started the final round today 4 shots behind overnight leader Whitney Hillier but showed her intent early with a birdie on the first hole. She also birdied the 4th before  4 straight birdies from 7th meant that she was right in contention. Further birdies at the 13th, 15th and 17th had Oh signing for a blemish free round of 64 and after a nerve racking hour waiting  in the clubhouse the win was confirmed when Kemp came up one short at 11 under.

Oh has shocked the golfing fraternity with her recent decision to retire from professional play. She has spent the past few years playing on the lucrative Korean LPGA tour and had a consistent season in 2014 with a number of top 10 finishes.

When asked if today’s brilliant round and the win would sway her to reconsider her decision, Oh remained convinced she had made the right call. “I need a break from golf, I want to stay in the industry bur do something different” adding that she may try to get involved in running tournaments here in Australia and possibly Korea.

For Kemp it was her 3rd straight top 3 finish in 2015. Playing alongside Hillier in the final group the pair matched each other birdie for birdie with Kemp finally coming out 1 shot ahead of the West Australian by the end of the round. For Kemp it was another disappointment but she has the consolation of taking a fairly significant lead in the 2015 Club Car Series.

The ALPG Tour heads up the M4 to Sydney where the next event is the Renault Ladies Classic at Castle Hill Country Club on the 29th January.
