WA’s Minjee Lee has had no time to celebrate securing her card on the LPGA, as she jumped straight on a plane to Dubai to tee it up in the Omega Dubai Ladies Masters.
The Ladies Masters is the final event on the Ladies European Tour schedule for 2014 and it gets underway Wednesday local time at the Emirates Golf Club.
There is a large Australian presence this week, joining Lee in the field is Nikki Campbell, Stacey Keating, Sarah Kemp, Whitney Hillier, Stephanie Na, Bree Arthur and Alison Whitaker. New Zealand is also represented by Cathryn Bristow.
A great field has been assembled this week there is a mix of rising stars and seasoned campaigners, so the Aussies will have to bring their “A” game.
Along with Lee, the young guns renowned for bringing power, flair and exuberance to the game, playing include England’s Charley Hull and American Cheyenne Woods. While the established players include Dame Laura Davies, Rolex World No. 5 Shanshan Feng, LPGA winner South African Lee-Anne Pace and France’s Gwladys Nocera, who won last week in India.
Promoted and organised by golf in DUBAi, the ninth edition of the tournament wears a truly global look with players from 27 countries represented in one of the strongest 108-player fields ever assembled in Dubai.
The tournament starts on Wednesday and finishes on Saturday, the purse this week is Euro 500,000.
