Sarah Kemp Moves into Top 10
NSW’s Sarah Kemp fired a four-under-par 68 at the Emirates Golf Club in Dubai to move into the top 10 at the Omega Dubai Ladies Masters.
Kemp’s round included seven birdies and three bogeys to go with her opening round of 71 to be at five-under-par and in a tie for sixth place heading into the final two rounds.
Rolex Ranked World No. 5, Shanshan Feng broke clear of the tight leader board during the second round. With rounds of 66 and 67 the Chinese golfer sits at 11-under-par and has opened up a convincing lead over England’s Charley Hull who is four shots back.
Sweden’s Anna Nordqvist, Finland’s Noora Tamminen and Gwladys Nocera of France sharing third on six under. Kemp shares sixth place with American Cheyenne Woods, Germany’s Caroline Masson and England’s Melissa Reid.
WA’s Whitney Hillier posted a round of 69 to move up into a share of 10th place at four-under-par. 2015 LPGA Rookie, Minjee Lee, fired a 68 to move up 43 places on the leaderboard. Lee is now at two-under-par and tied for 26th position.
New Zealand’s Cathryn Bristow is at one-under-par and tied for 34th. Unfortunately it wasn’t a great day for Nikki Campbell, after opening with a 68 she posted a 76 in the second round to fall back to even-par and tied for 44th.
The cut was made at two-over and Victorian Stacey Keating made it right on the number after a second round of 76. 66 players will contest the final two rounds. Unfortunately Victorian Alison Whitaker and South Australian Stephanie Na missed the cut.
