• Webb in 3rd place, 6 shots behind Inbee Park

Australian Karrie Webb fired a five-under-par 67 to move up and into a share third position heading into the final round of the Kraft Nabisco Championship, but the seven-time major champion will have to pull out a special round tomorrow to catch South Korean Inbee Park who has six ahead of her.

Rolex World No. 4 Park, will be looking to capture her second major on the Dinah Shore tournament course at Mission Hills Country Club come Sunday afternoon local time. Park posted her second consecutive round of 67 to lead the high calibre field at 12-under-par and three clear of her nearest rival American Lizette Salas (69).

Webb’s round included seven birdies and two bogeys, she went out in 34 after birdies on 2nd, 4th and 9th holes, while the only glitch was on the par 4 3rd where she took a bogey. The Queenslander had the putter going on the back nine with another four birdies, including one on the 18th , her only blemish was on the par 4 15th.

The Queenslander came from seven shots back in 2006 when she won the championship for the second time and loves the atmosphere at the event, she can’t be counted out.

First round co-leader Norway’s Suzann Pettersen (67), American’s Jessica Korda (68) and Angela Stanford (67), Thailand’s Pornanong Phatlum (70) and France’s Karine Icher (68) are all at six-under-par with Webb. Swede Caroline Hedwall and American Paula Creamer round out the top 10 one shot further back.

Another Australian having a great major so far is Sarah Jane Smith, Smith posted a three-under par 69 to move into the top 15, the Queenslander shares 14th position at three-under-par total.

Victorian Lindsey Wright didn’t have a great third round posting seven bogeys and three birdies to be at nine-over-par and 73rd.

New Zealand’s amateur Lydia Ko is in a battle with North Ireland’s Stephanie Meadow for leading amateur. They are both locked at one-over-par.
