Norwegian Caroline Martens and American Tessa Teachman fired matching rounds of 71 on the Samanah and Al Maaden golf courses in Marrakech respectively to share the lead at six-under-par after the second round at the Ladies European Tour’s Lalla Aicha Tour School Final Qualifying for 2014.

The pair ended the second round a stroke ahead of England’s Anna Scott and Italian Sophie Sandolo in the five-round examination, with first round leader Rebecca Sorensen of Sweden and Austrian amateur Nina Muehl a stroke behind on four-under-par.

After four rounds, there will be a cut to the leading 60 players and those tied. After 90 holes, the top 30 and those tied will earn a full card in category 8a.

Playing in warm and sunny conditions with a slight breeze, it wasn’t the best day for the ALPG contingent.

New Zealand’s Cathryn Bristow is the best placed after 36 holes. Bristow has carded rounds of 70 and 74 to be at even par and tied for 20th position. Australian Maggie Yuan moved in the right direction on day 2. She posted a 69 to move to two-over-par total and is tied for 35th.

Kiwi Phillis Meti (71) (pictured) is at four-over and tied for 55th, while NSW’s Adriana Brent (77) is a shot further back and shares 65th position. Kiwi Emily Perry (78) and Australian Ashley Ona (78) are at six-over and are tied for 67th. Rebecca Green has some work to do, she is currently tied for 83rd position at 10-over-par.
