• Stacey Keating blog: Mixed results in Europe
Stacey Keating

Well it has been a while since I kept you posted on my whereabouts! There has been quite a lot on actually with very mixed results for me!

Where do I start?

I played the Women`s British Open at St Andrews and what an experience, playing a major at the home of golf! I enjoyed it as much as possible even though I didn’t play as I would have like. I shot rounds of +2 and +5 to miss the cut.

Again I felt I took a lot from playing with the best players in the world, and hope when in that situation again I`ll be all the better for it!

Then it was on to Prague for the Pilsen Masters. The golf course was really nice with some interesting holes, and some tough tee shots! I felt like I played well here, and was nice to be in contention coming down the stretch. I fell three shots short to be T7th. I was pleased with my week!

Then on to Scotland!

It sure lived up to our expectations with the weather, blowing an absolute gale and very cold! I struggling early in the event, but got into my groove in the later stages of the event to finish T12th, behind local hero Catriona Mathew! Great to have her playing in an LET event, and winning at home was very special for her!

My parents were also over for the event and it was great to see them, it’s sure been a while!

Then off to Sweden.

I`d never been to Sweden before so I was looking forward to this one!

It`s a great course, and such a beautiful area near Helsingborg. Unfortunately the week didn’t go as I would like and one bad hole threw any momentum I had and I missed the cut by 1. It was a disappointing week for sure, but on the upside to it was fellow Aussie Rebecca Artis who scored her maiden victory here! I was very pleased for her and Aussie golf!

So now it`s time for a bit of practice for me, to get ready for the Lacoste Ladies Open in France where I have a few good memories from last year!

Also with AFL footy finals on back home.. there are a few early mornings for me, so I can watch the Geelong Cats.

A big game against top of the ladder Hawks this week, with a place in the Grand Final on offer!! Can`t wait! GO CATS!!

Happy golfing!
