South Australian Sarah King fired a seven-under-par 65 to move into a share of fourth place at eight-under-par total after the second round of the Ladies European Tour Final Qualifying School being played in Marrakech, Morocco.

The young Australian sits just two shots back from current leader Virginia Espejo of Spain. Swedish professional Camilla Lennarth and English amateur Emily Taylor share second position at nine-under.

King was delighted with her best ever round of 65. “It was very exciting. I hit off the back nine and had four birdies on the back nine. I wasn’t trying to think about my score and it was a bit up and down on the second nine. I chucked a few bogeys in there but I’m absolutely stoked with that,” said the 26-year-old from Adelaide.

“Last week I was hitting the ball really well I just wasn’t holing the putts. I guess I was holing a few putts today but then hit some really close as well.”

Fellow Australian Nikki Campbell shot a one-under-par 71 to be at seven-under-par and shares seventh position. West Australian Whitney Hillier was another to make a big move up the leaderboard, she posted a 68 to move into the top 20 at 19th position at four-under-par. Victorian Breanna Elliott (71) is a further shot back and tied for 30th.

New Zealand’s duo of Cathryn Bristow and Emily Perry both carded rounds of 74 to be at even-par and share 59th position.

Queensland’s Katelyn Must (73) and Tasmanian Ashlee Dewhurst (73) are at three-over-par and tied for 92nd. New South Wales’ Corie Hou (74) and Queensland’s Tamara Johns (71) are well back at six-over-par and tied for 115th position. Unfortunately, New South Wales Sunny Park shot an 81 to fall back into tied for 140th.

The 141 woman field is spilt over the Al Maaden and Amelkis Resorts over the first four days, playing two rounds on each of the courses. After 72 holes, a cut at 60 plus ties precedes the fifth and final round on the Al Maaden Golf Resort to decide the top 30 full cards plus ties on offer for the 2013 Ladies European Tour.
