• Massey makes a splash in Florida

Queensland`s Courtney Massey fired an impressive 6 under 66 to be tied for 2nd at Symetra Tour`s Florida`s Natural Charity Classic.

South African Melissa Eaton snags her career-first Symetra Tour title after firing a final round 72 through gusty weather conditions.

Eaton entered Sunday’s round with a one-stroke lead over Amelia Lewis and managed to come out as the victor despite a tight battle between the two. Eaton finished her round in extraordinary fashion, sticking a 156-yard second shot to place it within a foot of the hole to finish with an eagle on the par-5 18th.

For her final-round low score of 6-under 66, Courtney Massey was awarded a pair of Tifosi Optics Sunglasses. The \"Exclusive Sunglasses of the Symetra Tour,\" Tifosi Optics will provide sunglasses for the season-long promotion Sunday Low Round award.

Massey’s round moved her from T13 to tied for second.

\"I really couldn`t be happier, my goal was to make the cut then stay within a top 15 spot & I did it\".

Massey`s mom flew in from Australia and watched her play in the tournament.

\"Having my mum around in the gallery is always fun, when I know someone and I`m a little nervous the first few holes having that support really helps! I did know one of the girls I played with Molly & she`s a great easy going girl too so the chatting in between shots helped settle my nerves\".

Massey also credits her new swing coach, Grant Field for her new found confidence in her game.

\"First hole I chipped in for birdie, second hole I was just in the fringe & holed a 20 footer for birdie! I had songs in my head the whole day and felt really relaxed. Today was also a very windy day, like down at Vic open (ALPG Tour) so all I wanted to do was keep the ball in play\".

Off the other Australians in the field, Emma de Groot is tied 30th and Inhong Lim finished tied 37th.
