The pre-qualifying stage of the LET Qualifying School is underway at the Amelkis Golf Club & Al Maaden Golf Resort, Marrakeck, Morocco.
154 players from 32 countries are competing for approximately 90 spots to move through to the final stage of qualifying school which starts on 13 December at the same resort.
The pre-qualifying stage has been broken down into two fields, A and B, from which the top 45 and ties after four rounds will progress to the final stage.
After two rounds, England’s amateur Emily Taylor leads Field A at nine-under-par. Six Australians and 1 New Zelander are in this field. Corie Hou and Emily Perry (NZ) lead the way at two-under-par and share 16th position, while Whitney Hillier is at even par and tied for 31st.
Sunny Park is at two-over and tied for 40th, while Sarah King is a shot further back and tied for 45th position. Rebecca Green (+12) is in 68th position, while amateur Belinda Diamond (+14) is tied 69th.
In field B, another English player leads, Holly Clyburn at nine-under. Swede Jacqueline Hedwall, who is the twin sister of Caroline, is outright second. There are only three Aussies and 1 New Zelander in this field. Ashlee Dewhurst is at one-under-par and tied for 21st, Cathryn Bristow (NZ) is tied 20th, Nikki Campbell is at even par and tied for 24th while Katelyn Must is at two-over and tied for 36th.
At the Final Stage of qualifying, 90 holes of play are scheduled and approximately 60 players exempt to the final stage will join approximately 90 qualifiers from the first stage. The total field of 150 players approx. will play over both the Al Maaden and Amelkis Courses, while the final round will be played on the Al Maaden Course.
There will be a cut to the leading 60 players and ties after 72 holes and those players who fail to make the 72 hole cut will be eligible for Membership in Category 12a.
Finally, after the final round the top 30 players and ties will be eligible for Membership in Category 8a and will be ranked in final score order; if necessary a play-off will take place to establish 1st position. And those players who have made the cut and finish in positions 31 and below will be ranked according to score and be eligible for Membership in Category 9b.
