Lydia Ko, number 1 ranked amateur in the world impresses in Japan with a strong tied 4th finish at the World Ladies Championship Salonpas Cup, played at Ibaraki Golf Club (West Course).
The World Ladies Championship Salonpas Cup is a major event in the Japan LPGA calendar.
Hiromi Mogi took the title with a 9 under total posting rounds of 71, 70, 70 and 68.
Ko is accompanied by a contingent of Australian golfers that include Jessica Speechley and Tamie Durdin (both are members of the JLPGA), Stacey Keating and Australia`s top amateur Min Jee Lee.
Ko had rounds of 72, 70, 73 and 68 in a total of 5 under for the tournament. Ko was a sponsor invite to the tournament and certainly didn`t disappoint the fans with a strong showing and finish at the tournament.
The best Australian in the field is Jessica Speechley at T24. Speechley started strong with a 2 under (70) and 1 over (73) in the first two rounds. She struggled in a rain soaked day on the third round with a 6 over (78) but finished strong with 3 under (69) in the final round. Speechley earned ¥876,000 ($AUD8619) for her efforts.
Tamie Durdin is placed T52 after rounds of 74, 73, 76 and 74 to be at 9 over total for the tournament. Durdin earned ¥396,000 ($AUD 3896).
The other Australians Stacey Keating and amateur Min Jee Lee didn`t make the cut.
