Victorian Stacey Keating is looking forward to this week where she is trying to secure her card for the 2014 LPGA season.

Keating is one of 10 Australians competing in the final stage of the LPGA Qualifying School being played at LPGA International golf course in Daytona Beach Florida from the 4 to 8 December.

The Victorian said from Daytona Beach, “This is my first attempt to qualify for the LPGA and therefore my first final stage. I got through from second stage a month ago and am looking forward to the week ahead.”

Like her fellow compatriot Rebecca Artis, Keating goes into the week knowing she has her card on the Ladies European Tour for the next couple of years, thanks to her wins on the LET in 2012.

“It`s not life or death for me. It`s a great feeling knowing that regardless of how I play I have my card in Europe for the next 2 years. I don`t like to set me expectations too high but know if I play well then I can get through.”

Leading into this week, the Victorian has spent time with friend, mentor and Australian legend Karrie Webb.

“Karrie has been great to me in the lead up but I guess we could say she`s not the most experienced at Q-School is she! But anything Karrie says I treat as bible. So I`ll be taking a lot of her info with me this week.”

Keating has played a couple of practice rounds at each of the two courses the 90 hole tournament will be played over.

“They are in great condition. Obviously a different type of grass compared to at home so I have been working hard trying to get used to the way the ball reacts. But all in all I think they are both a good test for all golfers competing.”

153 players will be teeing it up this week and competing for approximately 20 full cards and 25 conditional cards.
