Katherine Hull-Kirk was the only Australian to make the cut at the CN Canadian Women’s Open being played at the Royal Mayfair Golf Club, Edmonton.

Hull-Kirk, a former winner of the event, is at two-over par and tied for 59th position after posting consecutive rounds of one-over-par 71. However, the Queenslander is a massive 10 shots adrift co-leaders, Rolex World No. 1 Inbee Park and American Cristie Kerr.

Park fired a five-under-par 65, which included seven birdies and two bogeys, to go with her opening round of 67. For Kerr, she could have had the outright lead at nine-under, however the 16 time winner on the LPGA carded a bogey the par 4 18th to finish at eight-under-par.

Park will be looking for her seventh victory in 2013, while Kerr will be looking for her second victory this season.

The pair holds a one stroke lead over Frenchwoman Karine Icher (66) and American Angela Stanford (68). Sitting at six-under are three players who are well known in women’s golf, England’s Laura Davies (66), American Paula Creamer (68) and defending champion and amateur Kiwi Lydia Ko (69).

The cut was made at two-over-par and 74 players will compete for their share of the US$2,000,000 on offer.

For the large Australian contingent it hasn’t been a good week. Karrie Webb (+5), Sarah Jane Smith (+7), Lindsey Wright (+8), Julia Boland (+12), Sarah Kemp (+13) and Bre Elliott (+14) all missed the cut.
