Swede Dani Holmqvist captured her first ALPG title today, the Mount Broughton Classic presented by McGills Transport.
The talented Swede fired impressive consecutive rounds of five-under-par on the challenging layout to finish at 10-under-par and two shots clear of the field.
Afterwards, Dani was quick to thank the Swedish Golf Federation. Prior to arriving in Australia she was part of a Swedish Olympic Training Camp in Dubai, where she learnt so much in the Camp. She particularly wanted to make a special mention of Peter Hanson, who was fantastic to her during the Camp.
New South Wales’ Sarah Kemp finished runner-up for the second time so far in the Club Car Series after carding the lowest round of the day, 66, to jump up the leaderboard and finish at 8-under.
England’s Trish Johnson, winner of no less than 21 LET titles, and the form player so far in 2014, France’s Joanna Klatten finished in a tie for third a further shot back. Outright fifth was Victorian Stacey Keating, while the New South Wales pair of Rebecca Artis and Frances Bondad and Scotland’s Pamela Pretswell and Spaniard Marta Silva shared sixth.
It was a fantastic two days at Mount Broughton and the ALPG and all the players want to thank Frank Williams and his team and major sponsors McGills Transport.
The next stop in the Club Car Series is the Renault Ladies Pro-am at Castle Hill Country Club in Sydney.
