Five Aussies have secured their place in the LPGA Final Qualifying School in December.

NSW’s Emma de Groot, Rebecca Artis and Corie Hou, Victorian Stacey Keating and WA’s Kristie Smith all finished in the top 80 and ties at Stage II on Saturday and advanced to the final stage.

Coffs Harbour’s Emma de Groot and Coonabarabran’s Rebecca Artis were the leading Aussies over the four days at the Plantation Golf and Country Club in Venice, Florida. They both finished at even-par and tied for 28th.

Keating finished a shot further back and tied for 33rd, while Kristie Smith finished at three-over and comfortably within the top 80, in a tie for 45th position. Sydney’s Corie Hou finished right on the number, six over. 90 players finished at six-over-par.

Joining the five Australians was New Zealand’s Cathryn Bristow. The Kiwi finished tied for 20th at one-under-par.

American Amy Anderson earned medalist honors at Stage II LPGA Qualifying Tournament. Anderson won the sectional qualifying tournament with rounds of 70-66-68-68 for a 16-under total of 272.

A total of 90 players advance on to the LPGA Final Qualifying Tournament in Daytona Beach, Fla.at LPGA International. Unfortunately for Queensland amateur Ellen Davies-Graham missed out, having finished at 12-over-par.

Other notables who advanced from Stage II this week include South African Lee-Anne Pace, France’s Joanna Klatten and Tiger Wood’s niece and Wake Forest standout Cheyenne Woods.

LPGA Final Qualifying Tournament will be contested over 90 holes December 4-8, at the LPGA International in Daytona Beach, Fla. Top finishers in the final stage will earn 2014 LPGA membership (total number of cards TBD) and all others who make the cut will receive Symetra Tour status.
