• Creamer and Recari Share Lead

Spaniard Beatriz Recari and American Paula Creamer share the lead at 12-under-par with 18 holes to play in the Marathon Classic presented by Owens Corning & O-I in Sylvania, Ohio.

Both players carded bogey free third rounds of four-under-par 67 on the Highland Meadows Golf Club.

It looked like Creamer was going to take a slender lead into the final round, however a birdie-birdie finish by Recari saw her join Creamer at the top of the leaderboard.

Both players know how to win, with Creamer having won nine times on the LPGA and Recari twice. The duo hold a three shot lead over the rest of the field, so it is very likely that someone will have to go low to catch the leaders.

Talented American Lexi Thompson (67), Japan’s Chie Arimura (68) and another American Jacqui Concolino (69) lead the chase at nine-under-par.
Another three players are at eight-under-par including England’s Jodi Ewart Shadoff.

Katherine Hull and Sarah Jane Smith were the only Australians to make the week-end. Hull-Kirk posted an even par round of 71 which included two birdies and two bogeys. She is tied for 33rd position at two-under-par.

Smith had a roll-a-coaster day. She started at three-over, she posted to bogeys in the first four holes, before a fantastic four hole stretch which included three birdies and an eagle on the par 5 7th to go out in three-under, 31. However she couldn’t keep the momentum going and recorded another three bogeys and one birdie to come home in two-over-par, 39. Smith is tied for 48th position at even-par.
