The 2014 Club Car Series bonus pool competition concludes this week-end at the Oates Victorian Open being played at the magnificent Thirteenth Beach Resort, Barwon Heads.
On Sunday the Bonus Pool of $15,000 will be distributed among the leading 5 (five) players. The player who, having met the eligibility criteria, has accumulated the most points will be declared the 2014 CLUB CAR Series Bonus Pool Winner. The winner will take home a cheque for $6,500.
The current Series leader, New South Wales (NSW’s) Sarah Kemp, will be looking to hold off challenges from Queensland’s (Qld) Bree Arthur, ACT’s Nikki Campbell, South Australian (SA) Stephanie Na and NSW’s Corie Hou. Mathematically all four players have a chance to overhaul Kemp if they win and pick up the maximum 1,000 points on offer and Kemp finishes outside the top 10.
Arthur and Campbell have the best chance to catch Kemp as they are only 375 and 525 points behind respectively.
NZ’s Stacey Tate is currently sitting in 5th position with 262 points, with Qld’s Ashely Ona on 250 points. WA’s Kristie Smith, who finished tied 2nd last year in the Vic Open will be one to watch. She is currently in 8th position with 246 points and can certainly move up the points table with another great performance this week-end.
With double points on offer in this week’s final event, many players aren’t without a great opportunity to move up in the points table. One such player is defending Victorian Open champion, Stacey Keating. Keating is currently outside the top 10 on the points table, but a strong performance this week, could see move into the top 5.
