Without truly hitting their straps the girls have pulled themselves into the lead after 2 rounds of the Queen Sirikit Cup here in Taiwan.

Leader by a low round of the tournament so far -3 (69) from Su Oh and solid even par (72) from Minjee Lee has the team leap frogged Thailand and Japan into first place. Grace Lennon hit 2 poor shots that lead to a +6 (78) which was very frustrating for her as she was very solid otherwise.

Su was superb from tee to green, setting up 13 birdie putts from inside 30 feet. She made 6 of them - most from inside 6 feet - but was very disappointed to finish with 3-putt bogeys on 16 and 17 and then miss from 4 feet for birdie on the last. Classic case of \"what could have been\". It sounds like she putted poorly but compared to her zero conversion rate from Day One the 6 birdies where a big improvement. Most importantly she proved to herself that she can hole important putts.

Testament to her undoubted talent Minjee looked like she was struggling all day but still managed to sign for a 72. She has a great knack of doing something special at seemingly just the right time and her flawless birdie on 18 has given the team great momentum heading into tomorrow. I expect the challenge of coming from 4 shots back in the Individual and wanting to contribute to an Australian Team victory tomorrow will bring out the best in Minjee.

Grace by her own admission learnt a vital lesson today. On this Sunrise Golf and Country Club course there are a few very tough approaches into greens and if you are not 100% committed to the shot you can rack up a big number. She dropped 5 shots in 2 holes....all due to not committing to the target she selected prior to hitting her approach. We spent a bit of time on the range after play working on increasing her commitment level to each shot and it was no surprise to see the consistency and quality of her shots improve. As we discussed Grace can play a very important role tomorrow. She is 11 shots off the Individual lead so she will focus entirely on making as many birdies as she possibly can to contribute to the team score. She is swinging the club really well and putts solidly too so if she gets the commitment levels right she will achieve her goal.

Nothing short of an Australian win will satisfy these three talented girls. They have been a delight to be around and I will be surprised if they aren`t the 2013 Queen Sirikit Cup champions come early afternoon tomorrow.
